The sculpture wight Spirit is a collection of hand prints from musicians who performed at the Isle of Wight festivals from 1968 to 1970 and include many of the great musicians of the era. The panel is made up of around 100 handprints which has been donated by the musicians or taken from photographic research. Each hand print has the symbol that the musician identifies with and colors of choice. The handprints are mosaic onto a 2.5 m x 1.5 m and the project took two years to complete. The sculptor guy Portelli has a fascination with how art and music are interwoven, And has produced many sculptures that include musicians and musical feet references. The panel will be included in a heritage Center dedication to the festivals at www.ayoWmusicheritage.org
